Where the role fits in our organisation

Our Communications and Impact team leads on communications, media, engagement with the third sector and partners across Dumfries and Galloway, systems, data and insights, evaluation and impact, storytelling, regional and national sector promotion, and internal communications. This role reports to our Head of Communications and Impact and is peer-supported by the other members of the Communications and Impact team.

Where you’ll work

Dumfries office – predominantly office-based, with a minimum of 4 days a week in the office. Our flexi-working policies apply.

Contract type and hours

35 hours per week (full-time), 18-month fixed term

Full-time equivalent salary (FTE is 35 hours)

What You'll Do

We are looking for a colleague to lead our digital transformation, change management and innovation agenda, both within TSDG and across the wider third sector in Dumfries and Galloway. Internally, you will develop and deliver a digital roadmap for TSDG, championing effective use of our core platforms and building staff confidence and capability. Externally, you will strengthen digital inclusion in Dumfries and Galloway, lead our digital collaboration tool, and help other third sector organisations optimise their digital use and collaborate more effectively.

• Develop and lead delivery of a digital transformation roadmap for TSDG, covering systems, data, process improvement and digital capability.
• Deliver effective, joined-up use of internal digital platforms, reducing duplication, improving data flow between systems and strengthening reporting.
• Lead change management activity through communication and training, supporting staff to adopt new tools and ways of working.
• Identify and pilot digital approaches, including emerging AI tools, that could improve our efficiency or service delivery.
• Lead, develop and monitor our digital collaboration tool, including the digital collaboration of the Whole Family Support project alongside Borders and Midlothian TSIs.
• Work with third sector organisations across Dumfries and Galloway to deliver measurable improvements in the sector’s digital maturity, promoting shared digital tools and good practice and leading peer learning and knowledge-sharing.
• Lead TSDG’s participation in the TSI/DIA Local to National learning pilot, and develop and chair a Local Digital Steering Group to embed and evidence digital inclusion in local strategies and plans.
• Produce clear, accessible evidence and recommendations to inform partners, funders and decision-makers.
• Represent digital transformation interests in relevant local partnerships, strategy groups and funding conversations.
• Support colleagues across TSDG and contribute to effective team working, in line with our values.

• You will have a strong understanding of rural digital inclusion and digital exclusion.
• You will be able to show experience of leading digital transformation, change management or system/transformational working.
• You will be confident using and championing core digital platforms and collaboration tools.
• You will have strong analytical skills and be able to translate evidence into clear, actionable insights.
• You may have experience of supporting multiple external organisations to improve shared digital practice or collaboration.
